"God commands you to pray, but he forbids you to worry."
The Cure' of Ars

(Philippians 4:6)
Have No Anxiety

"Have no anxiety about anything,
but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known to God."

(Romans 8:2)
All Things Work For Good

We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.

(Psalm 34:5)

Seek The Lord

I sought the Lord
and he answered me
and delivered me
from all my fears.

(Luke 8:15)

Happy Are They With
a Generous Heart

But as for the seed that fell on rich soil,

They are the ones who,
when they heard the word,

Embrace it with a generous and good heart,

And bear fruit through perseverance.

(Romans 8:38,39)
Nothing Can Separate Us From God's Love

"For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor future things, nor powers, nor height,
nor depth,
nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God
in Christ Jesus our Lord."

(Psalm 33:12)

Happy the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he has chosen for his own inheritance.

(Isaiah 58:7-10)

How to Live Uprightly
True Fasting

This, rather, is the fasting that I wish:

Releasing those bound unjustly,

Untying the thongs of the yoke;

Setting free the oppressed,

Breaking every yoke;

Sharing your bread with the hungry,

Sheltering the oppressed and the homeless;

Clothing the naked when you see them,

And not turning your back on your own.

Then your light shall break forth like the dawn, and your wound shall quickly be healed;

Your vindication shall go before you, and the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.

Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer, you shall cry for help, and he will say: Here I am!

If you remove from your midst oppression, false accusation and malicious speech;

If you bestow your bread on the hungry and satisfy the afflicted;

Then light shall rise for you in the darkness, and gloom shall become for you like midday;

Then the Lord will guide you always and give you plenty even on the parched land.

He will renew your strength, and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring whose water never fails.

The ancient ruins shall be rebuilt for your sake,

And the foundations from ages past you shall raise up;

"Repairer of the breach,"
they shall call you,

" Restorer of ruined homesteads."

If you hold back your foot on the sabbath from following your own pursuits on my holy day;

If you call the sabbath a delight,
and the Lord's holy day honorable;

If you honor it by not following your ways, seeking your own interests, or speaking with malice

- Then you shall delight in the Lord, and I will make you ride on the heights of the earth;

I will nourish you with the heritage of Jacob, your father,

for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.

(Luke 12:22-26)

Trust in God

     But he said to his disciples, "Therefore I say to you, do not be anxious for your life, what you shall eat; nor yet for your body, what you shall put on.

The life is a greater thing than the food, and the body than the clothing.

Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storeroom nor barn;

Yet God feeds them.

Of how much more value are you then they!

But which of you by being anxious about it can add to his stature a single cubit?

Therefore if you are not able to do even a very little thing, why are you anxious concerning
the rest?"

(Luke 12:27-28)

The Lilies of the Field

"Consider how the lilies grow;

They neither toil nor spin,

Yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory was arrayed like one of these.

But if God so clothes the grass which flourishes in the field today but tomorrow is thrown into the oven,

How much more you, O you of little faith!"

(Luke 12:29-31)

Seek First the Kingdom of God

"And as for you, do not seek
what you shall eat,
or what you shall drink;

And do not exalt yourselves
(for after all these things the nations of the world seek);

But your Father knows that you need these things.

But seek the kingdom of God,
and all these things shall be given you besides."

(Luke 12:32-34)

Build up Treasure
in Heaven

     "Do not be afraid, little flock, for it has pleased your Father to give you the kingdom.

Sell what you have and give alms.

Make for yourselves purses that do not grow old, a treasure unfailing in heaven, where neither thief draws near nor moth destroys.

For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be."

(Luke 12:35-40)

The Watchful Servants

     "Let your loins be girt about and your lamps burning, and you yourselves like men waiting for their master's return from the wedding;

So that when he comes and knocks, they may straightway open to him.

Blessed are those servants whom the master, on his return, shall find watching.

Amen I say to you, he will gird himself, and will make them recline at table, and will come and serve them.

And if he comes in the second watch, and if in the third, and finds them so, blessed are those servants!

But of this be assured, that if the householder had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would certainly have watched, and not have let his house be broken into.

You also must be ready, because at an hour that you do not expect, the Son of Man is coming."

(Sirach 6:14-17)

A Faithful Friend

A faithful friend is a sturdy shelter; he who finds one
finds a treasure.

A faithful friend is beyond price, no sum can balance his worth.

A faithful friend is
a life-saving remedy,

Such as he who fears God finds; For he who fears God
behaves accordingly,
and his friend
will be like himself.

(Psalm 95:1-6)

Sing a New Song
Unto the Lord

Come, let us sing joyfully
to the Lord;

Let us acclaim
The Rock of our salvation.

Let us greet Him with thanksgiving;

Let us joyfully sing psalms
to Him.

For the Lord is a great God,
And a Great King above all gods;

In His hands are the depths of
the earth,

And the tops of the mountains
are His.

His is the sea, for he has made it,
And the dry land,
Which His hands have formed.

Come let us bow down in worship;

Let us kneel before the Lord
who made us.

For he is our God,
And we are the people
He shepherds,
The flock He guides.

(Isaiah 49:15)

I Will Never
Forget You

Can a mother forget her infant,
be without tenderness
for the child of her womb?
Even should she forget,
I will never forget you.
See, upon the palms of my hands
I have written your name;
your walls are ever before me.

Psalm 145:13
The Lord is faithful in all His Words

The Cure' D' Ars:

"We ought to say to God:
"I can do nothing of myself.
I can only give you my desire to love you. Here it is!
O my God, uphold me and do all yourself."

St. Jean Vianney:

" God sends no trial
without consolation."

St. Jean Vianney:

" Our greatest Cross is
The fear of crosses."

(Proverbs 3:5,6)

Trust in The Lord

Trust in the Lord
with all your heart,

On your own intelligence
rely not;

In all your ways be mindful
of him,

And he will make straight
your path.

(1 Corinthians 1:26-31)

God Chose the Weak

    Consider your own calling, brothers.

Not many of you were wise by human standards,

Not many were powerful,

Not many were of noble birth.

Rather, God chose the foolish of the world to shame the wise,

And God chose the weak of the world to shame the strong,

And God chose the lowly and despised of the world, those who count for nothing, to reduce to nothing those who are something,

So that no human being might boast before God,

It is due to him that you are in Christ Jesus,

Who became for us wisdom from God,

As well as righteousness, sanctification, and redemption,

So that , as it is written, "Whoever boasts, should boast in the Lord."

(Jeremiah 29:11-12)
God's Plan For You

 "For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for
welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Then you will call upon me
and come and pray to me,
and I will hear you."

(Psalm 33:17-22)

Hope in The Lord

Useless is the horse for safety; great though its strength,
it cannot provide escape.

But see, the eyes of the Lord are upon those who fear him,
upon those who hope for his kindness,

To deliver them from death and preserve them in spite of famine.

Our soul waits for the Lord,
Who is our help and our shield,

For in him our hearts rejoice;
in his holy name we trust.

May your kindness, O Lord, be upon us who have put our hope in you.

(Hebrews, 10:19-25)

Recalling the Past

     Therefore, brothers, since through the blood of Jesus we have confidence of entrance into the sanctuary

By the new and living way he opened for us through the veil,

That is, his flesh,

And since we have
"a great priest over the house
of God,"

Let us approach with a sincere heart and in absolute trust,

With our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience

And our bodies washed in pure water.

Let us hold unwaveringly to our confession that gives us hope,

For he who made the promise is trustworthy.

We must consider how to rouse one another to love and good works.

We should not stay away from our assembly, as is the custom
of some,

But encourage one another,

And this all the more as you see the day drawing near.

(Luke 1:46-55)

The Canticle of Mary

"My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;

My spirit rejoices in God my savior.

For he has looked upon his handmaid's lowliness;

Behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed.

The Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is His Name.

His mercy is from age to age to those who fear him.

He has shown might with his arm, dispersed the arrogant of mind and heart.

He has thrown down the rulers from their thrones but lifted up the lowly.

The hungry he has filled with good things;  the rich he has sent away empty.

He has helped Israel his servant, remembering his mercy, according to his promise to our fathers, to Abraham and to his descendants forever."

(Matthew 5: 3-12)

The Beatitudes

"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they who mourn,
for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the land.

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.

Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the pure of heart,
for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called
children of God.

Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you [falsely] because of me.

Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.
Thus they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

(Psalm 22)

The Lord is My Shepherd

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

In verdant pastures he gives me repose;

Beside restful waters he leads me; he refreshes my soul.

He guides me in right paths for his name's sake.

Even though I walk in the dark valley I fear no evil; for you are at my side
With your rod and your staff that give me courage.

You spread the table before me in the sight of my foes;

You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows/

Only goodness and kindness follow me all the days of my life;

And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for years to come.

(Psalm 26)

Trust in the Lord

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?

The Lord is my life's refuge; of whom should I be afraid?

When evildoers come at me to devour my flesh,
My foes and my enemies themselves stumble and fall.

Though an army encamp against me, my heart will not fear;

Though war be waged upon me, even then will I trust.

(Zephaniah 2:3, 3:12-13)

The Day of the Lord:
A Day of Judgment

Before there comes upon you the day of the Lord's anger.

Seek the Lord, all you humble of the earth,
Who have observed His law;

Seek justice, seek humility;
Perhaps you may be sheltered
on the day of the Lord's anger.

(Zephaniah 3:12-15)

Reproach and Promise for Jerusalem

But I will leave as a remnant in your midst

A people humble and lowly,

Who shall take refuge in the name of the Lord:

The Remnant of Israel.

They shall do no wrong
And speak no lies;

Nor shall there be found in their mouths a deceitful tongue;

They shall pasture and couch their flocks
With none to disturb them.

Shout for joy, O daughter Zion!
Sing joyfully, O Israel!

Be glad and exult with all
your heart,
O daughter Jerusalem!

The Lord has removed the judgment against you,

He has turned away your enemies;

The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst,

You have no further misfortune to fear.
